Kasnak Oak Forest Reserve
Experience a beautiful, green and peaceful place for trekking or admiring a rich Flora & Fauna in the protected forest reserve, just 25km south of Eğirdir.
The Kasnak Oak Forest Reserve Area lies within the Yukarı Gökdere village between Lake Eğirdir and Lake Kovada. Since this area has been declared a reserve, oak trees which previously sustained heavy damage over the years, will now be preserved for future generations.
The forest is well known for various butterflies and wild mountain flowers. A natural protected area of Kasnak trees (Quercus Vulcanica) forms a rare forest occupying 1.300 hectares. This forest is important as it forms an oasis for various types of plants and animals.
Getting there:
Take a minbus (dolmus) from Eğirdir to Yukari Gokdere or Balkiri and start hiking from there. If you like, we can organize a transport for you. Please let us know on time so we can do the necessary arrangements.
